My hair is super thick and wont straighten right?

Have no fear Chrissys here to help!:D Well I know exactly what your going through with your hair and I know just the solution! First off get a GOOD shampoo and I know this might sound weird but get a professional shampoo thats from Italy (from all my experiences with the 1000000s of shampoos I've tried Italy seems to have the best shampoos strange I know..) and get the matching conditioner. Once you've done washing your hair squeeze it dry with a towel and dont rub it together (this only creates moroe frizz!). Now comb it through with a wide tooth comb and once it's tangle free go through it with a brush. Now your ready for your product! My favroutire products are Flat Out by KMS and "Anti Frizz botanical hair relaxing balm" By Phyto. I use a small amount and mix them together, now apply it to your wet hair and blow dry straight with a comb or brush (it doesnt matter but a comb will reduce frizz more). Once you've blow dried it its time to iron it! I suggest you use a PROFESSIONAL CERAMIC plated iron because, once again, from experience this is THEE best iron to use (and make sure it isnt ceramic coated or else over time it will peel off!). Now seperate your hair into sections from top to bottom, and work your way up. Start from the nap of your neck then to your hair line. As your ironing the sections break them down into even smaller sections and pass the iron through it slowly then the 2nd (and 3rd if neccessary) pass should be fairly quick because you dont wont to fry your hair!! When your finished ironing your hair let it cool off then brush it straight with your brush, most people like ot use a serum after ironing but i suggest you dont because it will only cause your hair to frizzz up! Now once this is done for all sections you should have perfectly straight hair like mine!! :) I hope this helps!

I know exactly what you are going through, I have the same problem with my thick curly hair when I want to straighten it. I use a straightener serum first before I straiten it with my flat iron, and it works wonders, its kind of like an oil base and it ways down the hair a little, but it works great. The kind I use is called Download by Head Wear. But there are many other brands out there. Make sure you work it thoroughly through your hair before you use the blow dryer or an iron, and start at your roots and work out words.

My hair is super thick and wont straighten right?

Hello. I have very curly, thick hair and it is very difficult for me to straighten on my own. When other people do it, however, it comes out nice.

Here is what I've learned: when I go to the salon to have it blown out, the stylist worked product into my hair when it was wet. He then divided my hair into small sections and dried each one separately with a round brush and hairdryer with a nozzle attached. He had to pull hard and go over each section a few times.

He also used a flat iron over each section to smooth it out even further. It looked fantastic. Since my hair is so curly and it was so humid that day it kinked up a bit an hour or so later but it still looked good.

When it's all done you can spray it with hairspray and be sure to avoid water and humidity if possible.

Hope this helps.

Make sure you're not straightening it for too long or when it's really humid. If you have a crimping iron instead of a straightening one, then there's your answer, but there's a possibility that your hair has a life of it's own and will just refuse to be staightened. Curls are really pretty! My hair is just wavy and won't do anything. I am sooo jealous!

I also have big, thick, curly hair. What works for me is Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny shampoo and conditioner and Paul Mitchell's Gloss Drops smoothing serum. It helps keeps your hair from poofing out and also makes it easier to straighten (smoothing)....My hair stylist told me that when you smooth your hair straight, you should keep your hair slightly damp, it locks in moisture and helps with shine (you should also periodically change shampoos to prevent build-up). Hopefully this works for you.
