How do i Straighten my hair, its so frizzy and thick!?

ive tried anti-frizz shampoos, anti friz spray, anti friz serum, humidity spray etc. i've tried just about everything and its still wavy, frizzy, and thick. this heat and humidity doesnt help much either. would getting it layered help? i have a hair appointment scheduled the first of next month and i want to know what i can do to make my hair manageable. i constantly wear it in a pony tail and sometimes even a hat because its so unruly. any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

don't get it chemically straightened, it damages your hair which creates frizzieness. here is what i do. i have super thick hair too, so try this.

if you still have those products, use them up! it can't hurt. then, when you blow dry, use a brush that has those holes in it so that air just blows right through. take a section of your hair with the brush(from underneath) and pull down as you blow dry from root to tip pointing downward. that smooths the hair. do that all over your head. it helps with the straightness. you could probably leave like that and be fine, but for extra straightness.....

think of your hair in three layers, your top layer, your middle layer and your bottom layer. take your top and middle, put them up using a band or clip. just get them out of the way. then use your flat iron and straighten your bottom layer. let down the middle layer, keep the top up. straighten the middle layer. then the top. that is how i do it!

as for a cut, layers to help eliminate bulk, so that you have less hair at the bottom. i like my layers, so, i guess you could try them. it never hurts.

notice the bristles. those make less frizziness. also, one of those has the holes in it for blow drying. you don't need all of those, just one.

I suggest getting your hair thinned out really well.

Also, if you wanted to straighten it, i straighten mine in layers.

So just divide your hair by clipping it up and use a good straightner.

Seems to work for me.

if you want pin-straight hair, there is a thing called thermal straightening at salons. but it's really expensive.

My friend has your hair. Layering does not help. She just straightens it after showers and dries off and avoids water (pools) afterwards. If your straightner doesnt work good or takes a long time, invest in a professional straightner or the more expensive ones for your hair type...

Hi, When you have it straightened at a salon, its like getting a perm, but reverse. they put the chemicals on your hair but comb it straight down. They take section by section and add the straightening solution on it and comb it down, then take another section and repeat the same thing. They have to move very fast and be good at it. Make sure you go to a salon that you feel confident with. If your hair is DRY than have them do a conditioning treatment first than wait for a week or two to have it done. Hope this helps!! u can get a perm that will work or u can get your hair pressed and trimmed
