I have naturally curly hair, and it is very dry. Anything you can suggest to make it more healthy?
Healthy, Thick, Shiney, Soft Hair?
If your curly hair is dull, dry, and frizzy you should try ethnic haircare products (regardless of your race). You should especially look into hot oil treatments.
Check the ingredients on your shampoo. Many shampoos use harsh chemicals that serve no purpose other than making suds (which don't make your hair any cleaner), and the expensive shampoos that make extraordinary claims often have the same active ingredients as cheap brands. Avoid products containing sodium lauryl sulfate and ammonium laureth sulfate. Try using gentler shampoos, like an organic shampoo or a baby shampoo.
There are several types of ingredient you should look for in a conditioner. One type are emollients, like shea butter, olive oil, walnut oil, and wheat germ, which reduce frizz. Proteins, like wheat, wheat germ, or soy protein will coat the hair shaft and protect it. Humectants, like panthenol, vegetable glycerine, and sorbitol will absorb water and hold in moisture. Amino acids and aloe vera are also great moisturizers.
Look for the book "Curly Girl" at your local library. The entire book is specifically about caring for curly hair, and it's pretty enlightening.

2 tricks.......
one at home . . .
one Is my formulation............
the one at home is: to pre-treat your hair....1-2 hours before you shower, apply a vegetable (sunflower, sesame) oil to your hair . ( its messy but totally worth it).
Using a 1/3 - 1/2 Cup of Oil and a basting or small paint brush coat the hair.....( for extra condtioning I highly advise adding 1/8 teaspoon of Lavender or Rosemary Essential Oil to the vegetable oil)....massage the oil into the hair ( not the scalp only do the scalp if your scalp is dry as well ...most are not)..
leave the oil on the hair for the hour and 2 hours prior to shampoo.....
shampoo and use a spray detangler if necessary.....and style.
2nd %26gt; I make a terrific Deep conditioner its called THRIVEN, and I have been working on it for 4 years... The only way to use it is in the Overnight method. You shampoo/rinse/ apply and sleep with it in the hair and scalp so all the luscious ingredients have a long time to do their wonders . . . . it has organic unfiltered shea butter%26gt; aloe butter and 4 oils chosen for their lipid content and makeup and compatibiltiy with the hair strand %26gt; 3 organic essential oils....every ingredient in it is used because of its benefit to hair even the emulsifier..
take care of your hair
