20 minutes, and if I use hairspray, it only makes it hard and tangled. Then i have trouble brushing my hair the next morning. I really want to have nice curls that last at least half a day. I was told not to get a perm by the hairdresser because it would fry my hair.Any suggestions?
I have pretty thick (dyed) black hair, but everytime I curl it with my rollers, the curl will be gone within?
My hair's pretty thick too and I've never been able to hold a curl all day. What does help is putting curling creme or at least mousse through your hair while it's wet/before you curl it. If you curl when it's damp, it'll also hold the curl longer but that isn't so good for your hair. Good Luck

Trim your ends. Your ends may be split and unable to hold a style

I have the same problem. You should try wetting your hair first and then hair spray and then scrunch. Put your hair up in a bun, wrap your head in a bandana and sleep in it for best results. But don't brush through your hair the next morning. Just scruch. If this doesn't work, then try french braiding your slightly wet hair the night before and sleep on it. Unbraid in the morning for natural looking curls. If this doesn't work either, curling iron works really great too. Just make sure it's hot enough. But curlers never seem to work for me either.

I suggest you use a curl/foam wrap lotion, my favorite is Motions, however, many haircare lines make them.
