If you do not want to permanently straighten your hair then do not get a perm or relax your hair with chemicals.

If you do not mind doing that then it is fine to use those as most of them are completely safe when used correctly. And don't worry about them being permanent, when your new hair grows it won't be treated with the perm if you ever wanted to go back to curly hair.

Otherwise to straighten your hair without chemicals, they now sell straightening shampoo that will help to straighten your hair, after that blow dry your hair (on the cool setting), with a comb attachment if possible. And after that use a hot comb or hair straightener to finish it off.

Hi Guyz,My problem is that i hav extremely dense n thick curly hair n i want 2 straighten it.?

i have very thick and naturally curly hair. I decided to straighten it with a chemical straightener and it turned out great. I purchased ogalvie moisturizing chemcial straightener from walmart.

You should get a good smoothing serum, like Redken Glass or John Freida Frizzease.. and use a round metal brush, blow-dryer and ceramic straightener. Put half of your hair up in a clip, and dry the lower half with the blow-dryer and the straightener. (Be careful for damage with too much heat, or leaving the straightener on a section of your hair for too long.) Then continue with the rest of your hair. Another good product for straightening is TRI Aerostraight. I used to work at a salon and the TRI products and Redken products flew off the shelves. It's good stuff!!

I have extremely dense, thick, curly hair, too. Absolutely nothing I've tried will actually straighen it. Make it less curly, yes, but never really straight. Most products just tame the frizzies without actually loosing a lot of curl, and chemical straighteners will fry your hair and add more frizz. Getting a perm with fat rods will loosen the curls up. The closest I've come to straight hair is with a straightening iron, but that takes nearly an hour. I gave up trying to straighen my hair. Too much effort for not enough results.

use a straighten in wet hair, it works completely well. But suggest don't straighten ur hair, shraight is not very nice on males, i guess
