Why dont you just get new products. Maintanance can change things. What types of products do you use?

I do to and its all about the products and shampoos that you use..also no brush after you wash it towel dry and put fingers through it ...then scrunch a mousse or gel that has frizz control or curl control let dry naturally or blow dry scrunching it and on a low heat.the best hair takes a while but worth it

Yes, the weight of longer hair will help a lot. Use moisturizing products and silicone-based frizz preventers to keep it smooth.

My hair is super curly and thick and usually very long until I recently got a different style that requires straightening daily but anyways...If your hair is short and curly it will be more "poofy". I would use some mousse or gel in your hair to control it..Or if you don't want it to look wet..tigi makes this amazing stuff called smoothing lusterizer. You can put it in your hair wet or dry and it will lay it down like whoa! It will take any frizzies or flyaways out and make it shiny and smooth looking. It's not sticky or anything and it smells really good too. I love this stuff if you can't tell...lol. GL:)

My hair is also very thick, coarse, %26amp; curly. Having longer hair definitely helps "weigh down" some of the volume. Another thing that really helps is using a deep pre-shampoo conditioner on a regular basis. I found one online that works very well. I use it at least once a week and sometimes leave it in overnight before shampooing. It is a bit pricy, but a little goes a long way and it's well worth every cent!! It can also be used for other things as well. Check it out @ www.SuppleRumpz.com %26amp; best of luck!
