Your hair has been trained to perform what you've set it to do.

I might suggest using a hair relaxer. My best bet is let it grow, then cut a little, grow, cut some more, grow, cut, grow, cut . . .

til the unpermed hair is what you have.

I know this is going to sound like a curse word but the only way to successfully natural is cutting the permed part of your hair off. But if you just cant part with it then try getting your hair cornrowed with twist or braids. Make sure you use curl cream or moisturizer and then take them out. This will tame your hair. If you decide to straighten your hair make sure you use heat protection. I suggest Silk elements, you can get it at Sally's Beauty Supply. I too am mixed and it works well on my hair. Stay away from perms they strip your hair of protein. You may want to try using products that supply your hair of the protein like shampoos and conditioner.

You can and should wear your hair naturally because that is the way God created you. Check out motowngirl.com and nappturality.com for tips on hair care. Nappturality is a great place to talk to other women who are transitioning or have been where you are now. You can also find photo albums that show various stlyes and techniques that have worked for different women. We all have different textures, so what works for me might not work for you. However, the sites above are great places to start.

honey i have been having the same problem (the exact problem). i have found that corn rowing helps grow it out when you cant be bothered to do you hair daily. but try curls milkshake it works wonders on the hair, it bridges the gap between the natural and processed hair. depending on your hair type you should try products from these sites

www.blended-beauty.com

www.curls.biz

really good for bi-racial hair.

definately something for all curlies. check the hair chart first though.

good luck :)

The perm must have damaged your hair texture. Just go natural for a while. Seek a professional hair specialist
